Mike's Journey

Police Lake and Durango Livestock

Posted on May 31, 2026 By Melissa

Mike’s week started out with a trip to Police Lake on Monday with the usual travelling crew of William, Frans and John. Never ones to take the most direct route, they drove through Pincher Creek and stopped in at the Twin Butte Store for a delicious and filling lunch! (If you have never stopped here on your way to Waterton, you are missing out!)

After lunch, they continued down the road, passed Waterton, and enjoyed the breath taking scenery…where the Praries meet the Mountains, and it almost feels like you could reach out and touch them!

When they arrived at Police Lake, it was so calm and peaceful. They watched the muskrats swimming right by the dock, and sat on the dock soaking up the warm sunshine while listening to the Loons call. And kept an eye out for bears, of course….

Everyone agreed that they need to go back, and bring their fishing rods next time!

On Friday, Mike met up with his good friend and former co-worker, Denzel.

Denzel showed Mike around the farm, looking at the cows and checking out his new shop that he is building.

After looking around Denzel’s place, they headed over to his neighbor Alex at Durango Livestock.

There is a lot of construction going on there as they are expanding their cow/calf operation.

Mike was also able to walk to the calving area and check that out as well!

These were both great outings for Mike that he thoroughly enjoyed!

Mike ended the week with a trip to Nobleford for a visit with family.

Thanks you everyone for continuing to follow along with Mike’s life and his weekly adventures!
