It has been over a month since I have updated what Mike has been up to! We should be back to regular updates now, and I will try to post on Monday mornings for a while and see how that works.
But for today, we will start with the beginning of August…
The crew of Mike, William, Frans and John made another trip to the Birds of Prey Centre in Coaldale. Apparently last time they went, they didn’t have a lot of time there and wanted to go back!
The story of why this eagle is at the Birds of Prey Centre, is that someone tried raising it as a pet inside their home. It was eventually confiscated by Fish and Wildlife officers, but was not able to survive in the wild anymore. He is about 19-20 years old.
After the eagle is done the flying demonstration, he gets a shower from the hose to cool off. Mike was able to help with this.
After Birds of Prey, they stopped in at Broxburn for a delicious lunch before heading home.
On August 6, Mike celebrated the marriage of our nephew Dustin to Treena! It was great that Ronny, Annie, Hays and Paul were able to be here for that as well and Mike was also able to spend time with them.
The day after the wedding, Mike, William, Frans and John headed to Waterton for a boat ride. The boat that they went on is not wheelchair accessible, but this is why Mike and William work hard on keeping up and improving his walking. William was able to help Mike walk onto the boat, and they all enjoyed the ride!
