Off To Visit Family In B.C

Posted on July 19, 2026July 19, 2026 By Melissa

As it was Uncle John’s birthday recently, he invited Mike and William to come to B.C and celebrate with him. Mike really enjoys visiting family and friends in B.C and looked forward to this trip from the moment it was booked.

White Rock

There is never any shortage of beautiful places to visit in B.C, but when you live on the Praries, the ocean is always on the list. Mike loves the ocean, and I think every time Mike has visited John in the past few years, they have gone to White Rock. This time was no different!

The tide was out, but that didn’t stop them from getting Mike into the water…though I imagine it took a bit of work pushing his wheelchair through the sand…

Blueberry Farm

On another adventure, John and William helped Mike get onto a quad and went to check out to a nearby blueberry farm.

 Visiting with Family and Friends

Uncle John’s birthday party brought together a bunch of friends, making it a fun time with some familiar faces! Mike was able to visit with acquaintances from the past, and just really enjoyed listening to all the conversations around him.

Mike was also able to go visit Uncle Case, Aunt Alberta and Paula. We remember visiting them when we were kids….they had an indoor pool and it was always a highlight to be able to go swimming there!

Mike came home tired but happy. These visits fill him up and give him so much to think about and remember in the months to come. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible!

To Uncle John and Auntie Audrey for booking the plane tickets and providing Mike and William a place to stay, as well as driving them around to visit people and places. To William for taking time away from his family to go with Mike, and to Williams wife Melissa, for holding down the fort at home while he was away!

And thank you to all of you for who make it possible for William to continue working with Mike. We all appreciate you!
